  1. Does anyone know what the code *#105# returns, it contains the VLR number and another number, PS: something and SGSNOM1, as far as i can figure out this is related to data transfer for the phone, any clarification on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  2. Hmmmm you’re right *#105# returns the VLR and the date and time you last registered. I’m not sure what the PS 447785012101 number is nor SGSNAN1 and the registration date and time.

    I’ll email Vodafone and see what they say (if they reply).

    I’ll also try and get a screengrab from my phone to post here too, to illustrate the point.

    Thanks for raising that one! (oh and sorry for the delay, we’ve been slacking again – too many beers and chicks recently).

  4. We’ve taken our Nokia 6110 for another test run and we’ve found another couple of VLR’s you might like to see;

    Firstly VF – Pang 447785012700 (Where-ever Pang is!?)
    Also VF – Ouse which we got early this morning but we forgot to write down the number.

  5. We’ve also now found another one – 447785012600 which is VF – Hamble

  6. This topic has come up in the Vodafone eforum at http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=1056 and here’s a useful update on in particular *#105#

    *#105# is known as a USSD code, it sends a query to the network for information, this particular one shows the MSC you are registered on and the SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Node) which you use for accessing Vodafone Live! and the internet.

  7. VF Ouse is 447785012300

  8. You will also start seeing Brede and Usk MSC-S (Mobile Switching Centre Server) soon.

  9. Hello, guys. Could I ask if Vodafone UK has its USSD portal or it is used only for self-care?

  10. USSD codes are primarily used for self-care. The codes are part of the HLR programming and can be really useful if you encounter a problem – knowing which switch you were on can be a great help to the network engineers when they are investigating a fault. Often when people encounter a fault they have moved onto a different MSC completely when they report it – which instantly can send you off down the wrong track. If I ever experience a problem I always do *#105# to get the MSC name and SGSN information (useful if it is data related).
