USSD codes are primarily used for self-care. The codes are part of the HLR programming and can be really useful if you encounter a problem - knowing which switch you were on can be a great help to the network engineers when they are investigating a fault. Often when people encounter a fault they have moved onto a different MSC completely when they report it - which instantly can send you off down the wrong track. If I ever experience a problem I always do *#105# to get the MSC name and SGSN information (useful if it is data related).

Hello, guys. Could I ask if Vodafone UK has its USSD portal or it is used only for self-care?

This topic has come up in the Vodafone eforum at http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=1056 and here's a useful update on in particular *#105#

*#105# is known as a USSD code, it sends a query to the network for information, this particular one shows the MSC you are registered on and the SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Node) which you use for accessing Vodafone Live! and the internet.
